Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery is a program that provides students currently attending high school in the Thompson R2-J School District to repeat required classes that they have previously failed.

Goals and benefits

The most significant goal for each student is to complete graduation requirements by the end of his/her senior year. Students have the opportunity to repeat a failed class in a classroom with a certified teacher accessing computerized curriculum.

Location and Application Process

Afternoon Credit Recovery for 9th and 10th Graders - Credit recovery satellite programs are offered on the campuses of all Thompson R2-J high schools: Berthoud, Ferguson, Loveland, Mountain View and Thompson Valley. Certified teachers provide small group classes for students who need to repeat a required class they have failed. Counselors at the high school must complete the application form for each student and submit it to the person onsite who is responsible for the program. Students meet twice a week for two hours each day.

Evening Credit Recovery for 11th and 12th Graders - The Credit Recovery classes are held in the Thompson Administration Building at 800 South Taft Avenue. Students are given the opportunity to repeat a failed class in order to meet graduation requirements. Counselors at the high school must complete the application form and submit it to the SOARS Coordinator at the Administration Building. Students meet twice a week for two hours each evening.
