P-12 Curriculum Councils

High School Department Chairs, Middle School Curriculum Coordinators, Elementary Curriculum Liaisons and other vested stakeholders from each school in the Thompson School District provide foundational support to improve, align, and articulate curriculum in all content areas from pre-school to twelfth grade. Their work also impacts available courses that meet the standards for dual university credit, articulated college credit, Advanced Placement credit and International Baccalaureate credit.

Members of the content area P-12 Curriculum Councils meet regularly throughout the year as forum to discuss the needs among the 30 district schools regarding curriculum improvement, instructional pedagogy, student learning, professional development, assessment, and technology integration. P-12 Curriculum Council Coordinators facilitate the work of their individual content councils and attend monthly meetings of the Curriculum Improvement Council (CIC) which provides oversight for the districtwide curriculum improvement process.
