Thompson School District is focused on teaching and learning. We define a successful graduate as a young man or young woman who has mastered basic skills, can think critically and creatively, feels a sense of safety and belonging within the workplace and the community, and has demonstrated an ability to apply his or her learning to solve real-life problems.
There is not one answer or one approach to meet the needs of all students. We have specific curriculum that is comprehensive in all subject areas. We have a specific focus on our curriculum sequence from grade to grade and level to level. We believe that literacy and math skills are keys that open doors to lifelong learning in other fields such as science, social sciences, business, humanities, and the fine and applied arts. Thompson has a highly skilled, caring staff that focuses on making positive connections with each and every student. There are many calls for reform and many reform labels in education. We direct our focus on using what is working and finding balanced approaches to help teachers teach.
Through these approaches and additional curriculum offerings, Thompson School District targets Each and Every student.
