  • The BRMS library is selling books by the author Adam Glendon who visited our school this week!  Two titles are for sale: Evertaster for $13.94 and The Buttersmith's Gold for $12.86.  Prices include tax and cash or check only will be accepted.  Make checks to Barnes & Noble.  Books supply is limited so get your copy today!!

  • Do you need some extra practice for the Boulder Boulder? Or do you just want to have fun with your friends.  Either way come join the Bob Turner Classic on May 3rd.  This is a 5K fun run and walk.  You can do it alone or with a group of people.  There will be lots of prizes, so plan on running or walking the Bob Turner Classic on May 3rd.  Stop in the office and pick up a flyer today.

  • Attention Boys and Girls Club students.  There is NO Boys and Girls Club Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday this week. Please make sure you have other arrangements for after school.

  • You are invited to join and celebrate Garfield’s 60th Birthday Anniversary on Saturday April 26th from 12p-4p.  All Garfield Alumni and their families are invited.  Join in the fun. We will have cake, school tours, and much more!

  • Congrats to the crew that went to Turner Coed Relays! They took second as a team and performed well.
    TRACK DATE CHANGES: 
    The sixth graders will join up with the JV/Varsity athletes this Wednesday April 23rd due to the date change for their Conference Meet. This week's meet will be at BRMS vs. Severance.  Also, the 6th grade Conference is now Monday-April 28th, JV Conference is Tuesday-April 29th and Varsity Conference is Saturday-May 3rd.

  • Are you attending LHS in the fall?  "Do you like to dance? Do you want to throw things high in the air? Are you awesome? The LHS Marching Band is looking for new members for our Fall Colorguard. No experience needed. All training will be provided! For further information see Ms. Penny for a flyer!

  • The Teacher Talent Show is the last day of school.  To apply pick up a registration form in the counseling office. Everyone is invited to participate.  Priority will be given to multi-person acts. We prefer NO solos please.  All registration forms are due no later than May 2nd. You will be invited to auditions in May.  Talk to Ms. Campagna for questions.

  • Musical Fundraiser: Thursday April 24th, 2014 @ 6:30 pm The Musical Cast will be hosting a Movie Night in the Bill Reed Auditorium. Come see FROZEN with your family and friends. Admittance is FREE but snacks and popcorn will be available to be purchased!

  • Attention all 8th graders!  Due to the amount of trash and food left behind from lunch on Monday, the library is closed at lunch for the rest of the month for all 8th graders.  Sorry for the inconvenience, but you can blame those who DIDN'T clean up after themselves!

  • April is Poetry Month and the LOL Club is bringing back the Friday Poetry Slam at all lunches in the library!!   What is Poetry Slam??  It is a chance for you to listen to poetry read by your peers and teachers as well as chance for YOU to read poetry to a group over the microphone.  To participate, you MUST get a SPECIAL Poetry Slam pass each Friday.  You must have the pass to enter the Library at lunch.  This is open to ALL grades. If you write an original poem and read it to the group, you will receive an Academic Challenge. Pink Lemonade will be sold during Poetry Slam lunches for $1.00.

  • Parents:  As you are thinking about your students field trips for the remainder of the year, as well as any time you might be interested in being a parent volunteer, please note that April 30, 2014 is the last date in which parents can get background checks to volunteer.  Any parent that wishes to help, MUST have a background check done NO LATER thank April 30th or they will not be allowed to volunteer.
