George K. Baum High Plains School Presentation

The High Plains school financing information presented to the Board of Education by George K. Baum and Company on June 11, 2014


  • The Bill Reed Volleyball Team took on Walt Clark last night at the Walt Clark gym.  7th Grade lost to the Cougars in two well-played games, 19-25, 15-25. The Warrior servers were led by Sydnee Durtsche, who served 5 for 6. Sydnee Also led the team in Ace Passes, putting five passes on target.  Ariana Ruth, and Teagan Field both had one assist, with Sydnee and Gabby Stone each recording a kill.  The 8th graders fell to Walt Clark in two games, 20-25, 16-25.  Ashtyn Woodard led the servers, going 6 for 7 with two Aces, while Elle Marolf was a perfect 5 for 5 from the serving line with an Ace.  Ashtyn and Riley Kennison each had four Ace Passes on the evening. Kyla Schuetz had two assists on the night, and Lauryn Starke had one. RaLeigh Basart led the attack with two kills, and Megan Hurr put one on the floor for a kill.  The Warriors will travel to Windsor on Wednesday to take on the Wizards. Good luck, ladies!

  • Boys Varsity Tryout Information:6th, 7th, 8th Grade Boys Basketball Tryout Schedule:  October 2014

    Monday 13:  6th tryouts 3:00-4:15, 7th tryouts 4:15-5:30, 8th tryouts 5:30-6:45

    Tuesday 14:  6th tryouts 3:00-4:00, 7th tryouts 4:15-5:15, 8th tryouts 5:30-6:30

    Wednesday 15:  6th tryouts 3:00-4:00, 7th tryouts 4:15-5:15, 8th tryouts 5:30-6:30

    Thursday 16 and Friday 17 Varsity Shoot-Around (optional) BRMS 3-4

    *You need to have your physical and athletic packet handed in BEFORE tryouts begin!!!

    -Athletic packets can be found online at the Bill Reed website under athletics

    *Tryouts are closed-No spectators. Please pick your athlete up at the end of tryouts outside the gym doors.

    *We will keep 8-10 boys for each grade

  • There is NO school Thursday October 16th or October 17th.
    Parent Teacher Conferences will be:  Wednesday October 22nd from 3p-8p and Thursday October 23rd from 8a-5p. There is NO school Thursday October 23rd or Friday October 24th.

  • Important Student Information:  October 1st is "October Count."  Funding from the state is based on attendance that day.  Please make every effort to see that your child is in school that day. Keep this in mind as you make appointments.  Thanks for your help!

  • Free Tutoring starts Tuesday September 30th. BRMS will offer free tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-4p in the library throughout the school year.

  • Retakes of Individual School Pictures will be taken Wednesday October 15th. Students may pick up an order form in the office.  These pictures will be for purchase and for the BRMS Yearbook.

  • Need a break from the cafeteria? 
    -Join us for Lunch Bunch:  6th Grade - Friday; 7th Grade - Tuesday; 8th Grade - Thursday.  You must get a Library Lunch Pass the morning of your Lunch Bunch day.  You may bring your lunch to the library and read, play educational computer games, cards or board games.
    -Chess Club is every Wednesday at lunch.  It is open to all grades and all skill levels.  Hope to see you there!
