Student Achievement Services (SAS)
The Student Achievement Services Division addresses all of the instructional components of the school district including student services, curriculum, testing, professional development, instructional leadership and more.
The Student Achievement Services division includes:
- Assessment Department: Accountability, Gifted and Talented Education, Accreditation, School Effectiveness Plans, Critical Thinking, Colorado Student Assessment Program, Student information system (electronic grade books) surveys
- Athletics and Activities: Athletics schedules, fees, extra duty contracts, fund raisers, field trips and Colorado High School Athletics and Activities Association (CHSAA) representation
- Curriculum Development and Implementation: All curriculum development, School to Life, graduation requirements, Career and Technical Education, secondary summer school programs and dropout recovery and credit recovery (SOARS, Secondary Options Resulting in Success)
- Early Childhood Education: Head Start, the Colorado Preschool Program and Special Education for pre-kindergarten students
- Instructional Coaching: Instructional coaches, the Department of Media Services (school libraries) and student teacher assignments
- Leadership Development: Secondary education, Title programs, Early Language Acquisition and Reading Recovery
- Outreach Department: Counseling, People Offering People Support, At Risk, expulsions and the Expulsion School, truancy, home schooling, student transfers and Equity and Diversity
- Professional Development: Teacher induction, certified and classified staff training and teachers on special assignment (TOSAs)
- Special Education: Special education services, social workers, vision and vision therapy, physical therapy, special education resources, homebound instruction, psychologists and nursing services, and out of district placements
