Thompson Reinvented
Thompson Reinvented was described by MPC Chair, Dr. Jason Hatch, as a "win-win" approach that addresses needs across the Loveland, Berthoud, and surrounding communities.

Thompson Reinvented

Thompson School District's Master Plan Committee (MPC) is a Board of Education-established standing committee provided by BOE policy FB, "Facilities Planning," and policy FBA, "Planning Advisors."  The committee is composed of students, community members and staff who meet monthly to review and forecast capital needs in the district.

From August, 2014 through June, 2016, the MPC developed the Thompson Reinvented through committee meetings, input forums, school accountability committee meetings and presentations to local community groups.  The resulting plan is intended to address more than one problem, but a complex set of issues, including...

Schools falling into disrepair; $72m in identified needs;
Zero “capital reserve” in State financing;
11 elementary schools under 300;
Several schools overcrowded, including LHS and LEMS;
1,811 open enrollment out of TSD; over $12m in lost annual revenue;
Growth has been and continues to happen, far from schools with space.
